Target has listened to the suggestions, ideas and requests from our city, our council members and the neighbors.  To their credit, they decided a simple remodel of the Target at Riverside Boulevard and Broadway wasn’t enough.  We are getting a brand new Target!  This redesign would place the main store entry at the corner of Riverside and Broadway, provide neighborhood retail along Broadway and help energize the corridor.  To create a denser, urban context, the Target store is elevated to a second story with shaded parking below.

Throughout all outreach with the community, the sentiment was clear: nearby residents and Target shoppers love their outdoor garden center.  With the redesign the garden center will be given a prominent location near the store entrance on Riverside and will be slightly enlarged.

Approximately 38,000 square feet of neighborhood-serving retail on Broadway is designed to encourage pedestrian activity on the street and in the neighborhood.  A plaza gathering space is planned between the garden center and the store space.

There will be a link so you can see the design.  Keep posted and I will add the link as soon as it is available.
